I’d been craving a chocolatey drink all day and was leaning towards making a home made cup of hot cacao chocolate but this just felt like such a winter treat and although we may not be enjoying the glorious 30 degree heat we had in June, it is still summer and I have still found myself swaying towards more cooling and refreshing foods/drinks so I thought I’d test out something new and try to come up with a new recipe.
Behold… the Iced Cacao Latte made using just 4 ingredients!
It is SO delicious and was exactly what I needed. A traditional drink like this would tend to be filled with heaps of sugar and have absolutely no health benefits but this is just the opposite of that!
Cacao is one of my favorite super foods and I always noticeably feel different after eating/drinking it. The high levels of magnesium it contains are amazing for relaxation and specifically if you have any muscle aches or pain!
What I love most about this recipe is that it ticks so many boxes. It gives you a sweet treat, as well as quenching your thirst and adding a major super food to your day! Its so simple and easy to make and I can’t wait for you to try it!
INGREDIENTS
1 tbsp cacao
2 tsp honey
1/4 tsp salt (I like to use Pink Himalayan)
1/2 glass of almond milk
Ice
METHOD
Mix the cacao, honey & salt with a drop of hot water to form a paste
Place the cacao paste into a blender & add the almond milk.
Blend until you have a clear consistency.
Add ice to the top of the cup and then pour the cacao into the cup.
Top with a little more almond milk and ENJOY!
